Original War Rebelion Concept by Crashtest

The whole concept of Rebellion has changed and now it looks completely different. Here is the elevator pitch of new concept:

"Two teams fight each other on rugged battlefield. Each team must destroy enemy base located at the other side of map.

Both teams have the same mount of players (mostly 3 vs 3). Each player controls his small taskforce made of various units (people and vehicles), which have their own powers for tactical using to bring advantage.

There are also creeps spawners and defence towers all over the battlefield. Creeps (weak NPC units) are being automatically ordered to get to enemy base and attack everything hostile they find during movement.

Player gains resources after he kills enemy creeps, buildings or units. These resources can be used to buy new units or technologies, which upgrades all player's units in certain way."

Rebellion won't be like SoS in any way. It's completely different concept.

There is no units limit for now. The only limit is set by your resources.

Limit would be 2000 iirc. Since OW allocates a single unit slot to a unit for the entire game (And never gives that slot to any other even after a unit dies. Not sure if you can resurrect the dead and get around the unit limit that way).

Making a map thats kinda like Dota 2 sounds interesting. You should be able to make it multiplayer without any issues.

It's not OW mod or map, it is completely new game.

More moving units on map could be issue, because of they lags. Then, it's unplayable.

Most russian vehicles (HG, Gattling Tank ...) should have the same look like they had in OW, but there are going to be completely new units like Pulsar (American inf-carry vehicle equipped with anti-infantry laser, which is combination of double laser and electronic ray from OW mod Throwback), Peacekeeper (Alliance initiate soldier equipped with taser) or Exoskelet (Rebel tank-class soldier).

I meant some screenshots, sketches, concept art... People don't care for a few lines of text, they lack imagination these days.

That's true.

Here are some of our sketches we made to visualize in-game ...

It is like MOBA, so that means there are going to be multiple creeps fights (creeps are going to be apes). In this sketch there is one fight. Player's units are staying behind and killing enemy apes.

This is SKIPPER - American Tank-Class vehicle. It is actually hypotetical american heavy wheeled tank with double gun as main weapon. (Heavy tracked HG has been assigned to Alliance.)

IMO making MOBA game (or any other that is only multiplayer and requires more than 2-4 people to play) is not a good idea for begginer (I assumed this, sorry if I'm wrong) Indie game developers. You can see the problem with OW. There are still some people playing this game and it's so hard to play good 3vs3 game. It will be even harder to find 10 people to play game (On the drawing you have 3 lanes and if you want your game not to be boring you have to at least have 4 players per team, optimal would be 5+). I'm not saying your game is going to be bad but there are HUGE players out there (Riot Games (Tencent) with LoL, Valve with Dota 2 and Blizzard with HotS). Even if your game has some new mechanics that are very enjoyable it's almost impossible to reach at least the level that OW has after 14 years. In game dev there's this very important rule: you don't make MMOs, MOBAs etc. It takes huge amount of effort and doesn't really pay off. I'm not saying that your first game has to be succesful like Minecraft was, but doing something like that might disencourage you from further game developing.
